A Night of a Thousand Stars

Dancing the night away!

This year, as well as having our own staff Christmas lunch we were also kindly invited to the ACT (Association of Community Theatre) Christmas Party and Awards Evening.

'All That Swings' in full swing!
After the hugely successful Members Day we had previously attended in July we had been really looking forward to seeing everyone again at the party. We were expecting a night of good food and entertainment and we were definitely not disappointed!

We did arrive (fashionably!) late at the event and we missed our starter and pre-dinner entertainment by the YSD Dancers, however the rest of the meal was delicious. We left feeling very stuffed and satisfied and food-wise it definitely prepared us for the festive season overindulgence!
John Flay presents the Awards
The room at the Great Western hotel had been beautifully decorated, with a lot of thought clearly being put into the evening with the inclusion of party favours for each guest of an ACT keyring and box of jellybeans.

After the meal the Awards were handed out, and it gave us all a chance to let out our meals settle before the dancing began – as well as a chance to recognise the achievements and successes of the nominated societies and shows.
We were then treated to a performance by ‘All That Swings’ who soon had everyone up and dancing – including at one point on the tables and chairs, and finally a disco until the early hours.

We had a fantastic evening, and it was so lovely to see so many different societies and companies in attendance.
It was also nice for the ‘Traders’ to receive a large round of applause at the end of the night in recognition for our hard work throughout the year.

Our thanks go to John Flay and everyone at ACT for the invitation, and for organising such a superb evening. It really was enjoyed by all and we’re already looking forward to the next Members Day!
